What is the minimum debt you will collect?
We primarily work with commercial debts and generally require a minimum debt of $3,000. We focus on business-to-business and business-to-consumer debt recovery where professional collection is commercially viable. If your debt falls below this threshold, we're happy to point you in the right direction.
How much does it cost to collect a debt?
The cost depends on the method used to recover the debt. There are two parts: a loading fee when you lodge the debt (from $150 + GST for a demand letter up to $475 + GST for a statutory demand), and commission at a rate set by the total debt you refer, on a sliding scale from 30% down to 7.5%. Every published rate is set out on our fees page. We'll explain all your options and associated costs before you commit to anything, so you can make an informed decision about how to proceed.
How long does it take to recover a debt?
It varies depending on the debtor's circumstances and the method of recovery. Some debts are resolved within days; others take longer. We'll investigate the debtor's situation — their assets, employment, and financial position — and report back with our findings and a recommended course of action.
Do you collect disputed debts?
We only collect debts that are genuinely owed and undisputed. If a debtor raises a legitimate dispute, we'll refer the matter back to you to resolve before proceeding. We act professionally and within the law at all times.
Do I have to pay for the recovery process?
We do not operate on a commission-only basis. Our fees are fixed and transparent. However, we will always seek to recover our costs from the debtor wherever possible, meaning in many cases your out-of-pocket expense is minimal.
My debtor has disappeared. Can you find them?
Yes. We offer professional tracing services as part of our debt recovery process. Our licensed investigators use a range of legal methods to locate debtors who have moved, changed contact details, or are deliberately avoiding contact. See our Tracing page for more information.
What private investigation services do you provide?
We provide a full range of private investigation services including surveillance, background checks, employment investigations, matrimonial investigations, criminal defence investigations, and asset searches. All investigations are conducted by licensed professionals in accordance with New Zealand law. Visit our Private Investigations page for full details and pricing.
How does your process serving service work?
Our licensed agents personally serve legal documents — such as court proceedings, statutory demands, and notices — on individuals or businesses. Once served, we provide a sworn affidavit of service for use in legal proceedings. If the recipient cannot be located, we can also assist with tracing before service.
What is commercial re-entry?
Commercial re-entry is the lawful process by which a landlord re-enters and takes possession of a commercial property when a tenant has breached the terms of their lease — most commonly by failing to pay rent. We act on behalf of landlords to carry out this process professionally and in accordance with the law.
Can I speak with someone before using your services?
Absolutely. We encourage you to contact us for a confidential, no-obligation discussion about your situation. Our team will listen, ask the right questions, and give you honest guidance on whether we can help and what your options are — before any commitment is made.
Where can I find your fees?
Every price we publish is on one page. See our fees page for debt collection loading fees and commission rates, private investigation hourly rates and tracing, and the services we quote per job. All fees exclude GST, and you will never receive an invoice from us unless you have agreed to incur that cost.
How much do repossessions and document serving cost?
Repossessions and process serving (document serving) are quoted per job, because the cost depends on location, urgency and what is involved. Contact us for a quote and we will give you a fixed price before any work starts. The same applies to enforcement of judgments and commercial re-entry.
